      In 'The Noble Birth and Gallant Achievements of that Remarkable Outlaw Robin Hood,' retold in prose all that had been previously stated in verse, and its information was repeated in numberless chapbooks. One little volume () combined accounts of Robin Hood and James Hind [q.v.] as 'two noted robbers and highwaymen.'.   In a new collection of ballads, entitled 'Robin Hood's Garland,' first appeared, and was afterwards frequently reprinted. In 'The Noble Birth and Gallant Achievements of that Remarkable Outlaw Robin Hood,' retold in prose all that had been previously stated in verse, and its information was repeated in numberless chapbooks.

With usual stamps and markings, In good all round condition. Dust Jacket in good condition.   It is beautifully written and the pacing through out is remarkable. Angus Donald has done a remarkable job in bringing the legend of Robin Hood to life. There is of course a huge spoiler in the title of this book. The novel does indeed chronicle the final days of Robin Hood and his very reduced band of "merry" men/5(45).

    The first of these respectable personages is the author, or rather" The noble birth and compiler, of gallant at-chievements of that remarkable outlaw Robin Hood ; together with a true account, of the many merry extravagant exploits he played ; in twelve several stories: newly collected by .   As late as The Noble Birth and Gallant Achievements of that Remarkable Outlaw Robin Hood (the first printed prose romance of the outlaw, essentially a paraphrase of selected existing ballads) had declared that he was called Little "by reason of his low stature". Indeed, the idea of "Little" as a coincidentally inappropriate surname depends.
